Job Description
The holder of this position is responsible for bringing new innovations and technical concepts to Specialty Films manufacturer. This position will interact on a daily basis with research chemists, engineers, physicists and all other technical and support staff involved in product and technology development. This position will develop into one of the key technonolgy voices within the company. Effective communication skills and the ability to contribute to diverse project teams is paramount. Project scope and task work for this position will span both window film and specialty industrial film new business development. Providing support to existing product lines will be expected, on occasion, but this will be a secondary focus. Performs initial scoping and technical assessment of both new technology and product development projects. She/he will be a primary technical contact for project teams, existing staff anf for management.

Creates new material designs, inorganic, organic or polymeric and multi-layer as required for new product differentiation.
Leads technology and new product development teams
Prepares technical reports and provides technical briefings to management
Provides broad technology knowledge based upon experience, new learnings and research into published information.
Acts as a technical expert on broad technology areas as required by the business
Provides for an external technology view of things to support innovative new business development
MS with experience or PhD in one of the fields such as polymer chemistry or physics, materials science, materials or polymer engineering
Industrial experience, preferably 3+ years
Experience in product and technology development in specialty films, new material designs, adhesives, coatings, thin film materials, polymers and methods by which new materials are manufactured and used in product designs
Proficient in data recording and documentation with good written communication skills.
Willing and able to travel, both domestically and internationally.
