Our full-care hospital in the Central Valley is one of the largest employers in Stanislaus County with approximately 2,400 employees and more than 200 volunteers. We admit more than 19,000 patients annually and treat more than 51,000 patients in the Emergency Department each year. The scope of services includes cardiology, neurology, emergency and trauma services, air ambulance, women and childrens services, orthopedics, medical/surgical, oncology, and critical/intensive care.

We are seeking an Regional Assistant Coding Manager. Must be Certification as both a CCS and RHIT.

You will manage the coding departments of two hospitals. Responsible for the workflow of the coding process, ensuring all records are coded/abstracted. This position is responsible for coding personnel selection, training, and coding expertise development, and engaging the disciplinary process as required. This position is responsible to implement new coding and abstracting software systems and coding encoding systems and / or processes as necessary, to include staff training on new software systems or processes. This position is responsible to establish open communication within the coding department for both in house and remote coders. This position is responsible to exercise an appropriate liaison position between the coding department and other areas of the hospital to ensure problem resolution. The above duties are applicable to both facilities

Qualifications
Minimum Requirments:
Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS).
Minimum of two (2) years experience as a coding supervisor, coding manager, or HIM manager of an acute care hospital.
Minimum of five (5) years coding experience in ICD-9-CM and CPT4 for both inpatient and outpatient (including emergency department) records in an acute care hospital.
Must demonstrate excellent written/verbal interpersonal communication and problem solving skills.
Proven strong project management skills.
Ability to manage own time, self motivated, and manage own schedule and responsibilities.
Must have initiative to work effectively without constant supervision and direction, meeting all deadlines.
Must be able to efficiently and effectively manage a minimum of fifteen (20) employees.
Ability to read, write, hear and verbally communicate in English to the degree required to perform the job.
Must be able to travel and own vehicle used on Association business, must possess valid California Drivers License and upon request proof of liability insurance
