We are seeking an experienced Coder. Must be CCS required, RHIT or RHIA required. This is a Full-time Day position. Must have a minimum of 3 years experience acute care coding and/or DRG auditing. Thorough knowledge of medical records, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and coding.
The Sr. Coder is responsible for complete and accurate assignment of ICD-9-CM and CPT codes in accordance with current internal and external coding guidelines. The Sr. Coder will abstract clinical, demographic and quality information from medical records for statistical, indexing and third party payor reimbursement purposes. The Sr. Coder supports Coding Supervisors auditing, reporting and educational functions as appropriate.
The Sr. Coder exhibits an excellent working knowledge of Diagnostic Related Groups, sequencing of procedure and diagnosis codes and selection of Principal diagnosis and procedure codes in addition to an understanding of Peer Review Organization quality initiatives and Medicare reimbursement guidelines.
Qualifications
RHIT, RHIA or CCS
Minimum of 3 years experience acute care coding and/or DRG auditing.
