Systems & Project Development
The Research Associate III is responsible for safely, effectively and efficiently executing run plans, fully following SOP’s, operating lab equipment and test stands, and keeping detailed records. The Research Associate III will work closely with engineers and scientists to understand the run plans and execute.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties may include but are not limited to:
Operate safely, adhering to all Company safety protocols and practices. Additionally, help to ensure all associates operate in the same manner.
Effective execution of experimental test plans is a continual requirement.
Maintain testing apparatus, primarily raceway ponds in R&D testing greenhouse, in a high quality and effective condition at all times, working with maintenance and other associates as necessary to achieve this task.
Limited troubleshooting of experimental test systems and operational methods as necessary to ensure a high quality work product is delivered at all times.
Sustain a well ordered and accurate Laboratory Notebook, including all details, figures and drawings as necessary.
Follow and adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures related to experimental test stand operations, and all other policies of the Systems and Project development group.
Assist in development and draft new experimental test plans as necessary.
Organize and maintain a clean and effective working environment in the Wetlab/South warehouse, and LP greenhouse area.
Maintain an effective working relationship with other associates.
2-5 years laboratory work experience required, with history working in biological setting preferred
Strong attention to detail, with ability to effectively handle changing priorities
Degree in an applied technology field or related technical degree (i.e. chemistry, biology, etc)
Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to work individually or as part of a team environment.
High level of drive, with initiative to continually move forward and produce effective and tangible results
Ability to work with sensitive and company confidential information
Strong analytical skills to evaluate performance of both data and experimental test stands
Ability to handle chemicals after reading and understanding an SDS and following appropriate safety protocol
High level of comfort working with basic computer programs such as excel, work, powerpoint
Limited amount of ‘on call’ time is required in support of key tasks for the company
Ability to focus on completing a task and not simply logging hours
Capability to maintain positive attitude even in times of stress
Ability to work 40 or more hours per week at our headquarters in Gilbert, Arizona
Ability to operate:
simple laboratory equipment for analysis
read and understand an MSDS
walk a construction site.
travel to offsite facilities.
sit for extended periods of time (2 hours at a time, 8 hours per day).
stand for extended periods of time (2 hours at a time, 8 hours per day)
occasionally (0-33%) lift or carry up to 30 lbs.
frequently (34%-66%) perform fine manipulations with hands and fingers.
see, hear, and speak.
