The Director of Maintenance and Engineering, under the supervision of the Site Leader has direct responsibility of the overall site and related equipment including two separate facilities in a single campus environment encompassing approximately 300,000 sq. ft.  Areas of responsibility include project management of all significant site projects utilizing both internal staff and outside contractors, maintenance and procurement input on all equipment related needs for both manufacturing and non-manufacturing and overall facility and equipment maintenance programs. In order to accomplish this, the incumbent is responsible for the direct supervision of four (4) or more subordinates.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Oversight management of company validation and metrology programs (SOP’s, Protocols, Data Management)

·        Engineering Program oversight for site and related cGMP equipment

·        Site Project Management of all facility equipment including installation, expansion and relocations

·        Management of the following programs:  Material Certifications, Six Sigma Reliability, Mechanical and material Facility and manufacturing Equipment Certifications, Environmental Health Safety, Site permits and land records, HAZMAT, Engineering Budget and Capital Expense, Pest Control, Facility Sanitation and is assigned as the Site Sanitation Supervisor

·        Preventative maintenance program oversight

·        Engineering and validation support

·        Other miscellaneous activity oversight and management including housekeeping, security systems, grounds keeping and other miscellaneous duties

·        Oversight of spare parts inventory, machine shop and tooling


Required Abilities:

·        At least ten (10) years- experience in the nutraceutical and/or pharmaceutical industry in positions of increasing importance

·        At least ten (10) years in a cGMP environment is essential

·        Experience with oral solid dosage forms is highly desirable

·        Ability to work in a dynamic cross functional environment with company senior management is a must

·        Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills

·        Well-developed technical writing skills are necessary

·        Certification as a Quality Engineer is extremely desirable as well as Six Sigma experience

·        Experience and proficiency in the application of statistical techniques is essential

·        A high degree of accuracy is required as well as conversancy with current Good Manufacturing Practices



Education/Skill Level:

Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or Applied Science or equivalent job related experience.
