This client is an expanding pharmaceutical company with @ 4 billion dollars in sales and has facilities in the USA and Europe. They are seeking a Director of Supply Stategy for their Long Island facility.  This position leads the Supply Strategy function to develop and maintain, through collaboration with internal stakeholders, a comprehensive, robust, and efficient strategy for product supply throughout the global product lifecycle.
 
The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:
  1. Directs the corporate Supply Strategy function by developing and updating strategic plans, interacting with suppliers and partners, and managing supply chain risks for each product.
  2. Ensures that sufficient capacity and redundancy exist at each stage of supply and throughout the distribution channels.
  3. Collaborates with colleagues from Production, Marketing, R&D, and various support groups to ensure that all aspects of product supply are well developed, implemented, and maintained throughout the product lifecycle.  This includes identifying cost and cycle time savings opportunities.
  4. Ensures that the Supply Strategy Master Files for all products are complete and current. This includes: supply chain maps; risk assessments; backup suppliers; capacity analyses; product presentations; and inventory management targets.
  5. Chairs the corporate cross-functional Supply Chain Risk Management working group to develop and communicate the holistic understanding of Supply Chain Risk.
  6. Represents the Supply Strategy function in various recurring supplier or product meetings.
  7. Drives the Supply Chain Working Groups to promote close collaboration among stakeholders impacting the successful launch of trade and sample product.
 
The qualifications for this position include but are not limited to the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Science or Marketing. MBA is a plus.
  • 10+ years of Life Science and/or Supply Chain experience.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of current Supply Chain / S&OP practices.
  • Knowledge of drug manufacturing, packaging, and distribution processes.
  • Outstanding communication skills which includes excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into simple, actionable messages.
  • Deep understanding of the technical and commercial aspects of the pharmaceutical business.
